The Indigenous Business Expo celebrates Indigenous entrepreneurship and assists in building a thriving community of support.
We invite procurement team to come connect with motivated buyers at this one-day event centered around networking opportunities and showcasing the diversity within Indigenous businesses. Please note this is a free event.
Indigenous Business Connectors program is delivered by Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise. The social investment program is supported by Shell’s QGC business and joint venture partners Tokyo Gas and CNOOC as part of our commitment to supporting stronger First Nations.

Julia Spicer
Former Chief Entrepreneur and founder co-founder of The Connection Table, Julia grew up on Mandandanji country north of Roma and now lives on Bigambul country at Goondiwindi. She is always looking to solve problems by creating value for others, whether that is by supporting projects, strategic planning or creating new businesses. Her latest adventure is The Connection Table which is all about making sure regional leaders have a seat at decision making tables.
Jay Hobbs
With over a decade of experience across private, government, and defence sectors, Jay, the founder and creative director of Symth Studio, blends creativity with strategy to deliver impactful design. A proud descendant of the Kuku Yalanji and Erub/Meriam Mir peoples, he infuses his cultural heritage into every project, shaping meaningful and authentic visual storytelling. His leadership and commitment to innovation continue to drive Smyth Studio’s success.
Tanya Abbey
With 20+ years of experience in recruitment, sales, and business management, Tanya is passionate about connecting the right people, driving business growth, and creating real opportunities. As Founder of Recruitcorp Group, she works across industries helping businesses find exceptional talent and individuals take the next step in their careers. Tanya is also the author of Ace Your Interview, a practical guide for candidates and companies on mastering the interview process and hiring the right people for growth.
Professionally, Tanya wears a few hats: Recruitment & Career Coach, Workshop Facilitator, Author, Small Business Mentor (QLD Government), Career Mentor (Headspace), and Business Partnership Specialist.
