Best-selling author to share innovation tools of success at Toowoomba forum
A man who uses his love of mathematics as a living to make businesses more efficient has developed his own formulas to innovate cheaply and effectively.
Evan Shellshear is the Head of Analytics at Biarri, enjoying the practical solutions that calculations offer.
“Mathematics can help us figure out the future for things like forecasting sales, crimes and visitors but also help us decide what is the best decision to make based on the data.”
After years of immersing himself in data, Mr Shellshear decided to put pen to paper for the book ‘Innovation Tools’ to improve his communication skills.
“Innovation was also a passion of mine because I saw that although technology was an enabler, it was solving business problems in innovative ways that drives value creation in society.”
“So I was able to target two of my interests by writing a book and since then, I have continued to co-author books,” said Mr Shellshear.
Since it was published, thousands of copies of ‘Innovation Tools’ have been sold, and the book was listed #1 best seller on Amazon.
The successful author will be sharing his techniques in Toowoomba next week at the 400M Agrifood Innovation Forum, hosted by Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE).
Mr Shellshear said he’s excited to be presenting.
“It sounds like a great audience of people looking to improve their businesses and disrupt their industries and they see technology as the accelerating factor that could help drive their next important innovation.”
“The conversations that arise out of this can lead to game changing opportunities,” he said.
Bruce McConnel, TSBE Food Leaders Australia (FLA) General Manager said 400M will help drive the adoption of AgTech.
“We’re thrilled to have speakers like Evan who are thought leaders in this space, sharing their valuable knowledge on turning innovative ideas into reality.”
“It’s also fantastic to be making these meaningful connections between innovation and the agricultural industry,” said Mr McConnel.
Mr Shellshear believes the success of agribusiness is tied into the success of Australia's economy just like mining, tourism and many other industries.
