Solid crowd turnout for TSBE's Enterprise event in Chinchilla
A crowd of over 130 guests gathered in Chinchilla last Thursday, 12 May to hear about the importance of water and power infrastructure for regional communities to grow and expand at Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise’s (TSBE) May Enterprise Evening event.
SunWater and Powerlink Queensland, who have been heavily involved in establishing power and water infrastructure during the rapid growth of the Surat Basin resource precinct, presented to guests on recent and future development plans for the mining, power, urban and agricultural sectors.
SunWater has developed and now manages a regional network of bulk water supply infrastructure across Queensland that supports around 5,000 customers in the mining, industrial, local government and irrigated agriculture sectors.
Powerlink Queensland is a State Government Owned corporation which owns, develops, operates and maintains the high voltage electricity transmission network that extends 1700km from north of Cairns to the New South Wales Border, and has established the network to supply power to gas processing facilities in the Surat Basin.
Guests also heard from new Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Paul McVeigh on the importance of the Western Downs region within the Surat Basin.
TSBE CEO Dr Ben Lyons said it was a great turnout for the first Enterprise event in Chinchilla for the year.
“Thank you to Julian, John and Paul for their insights on the evening and for the update on their current activities in the Surat Basin,” Dr Lyons said.
“Despite difficult times in the region, it was pleasing to provide a valuable networking event to guests at a time where we know networking is key for winning work.”
TSBE Bronze Member and specialist biosecurity and weed hygiene service provider Australian Agricultural & Environmental Solutions (AA&ES) sponsored the event.
