Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise to host Smart Logistics Future of Freight Symposium in July 2023
Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) is pleased to announce the Smart Logistics Future of Freight Symposium, set to take place in Toowoomba from 4 to 6 of July, 2023.
This event is a unique opportunity for industry professionals to explore how the Toowoomba region can maximise the potential of its infrastructure, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions to become a major inland port. With numerous growth opportunities on the horizon, including expansion in defence supply chain, rail networks, air connectivity, decarbonisation, sustainability, and environmental and social practices, this Symposium will be an excellent platform for discussing the responsibilities facing industries in the future.
Featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops, the symposium will cover an array of topics, such as Investing in Toowoomba, Creating Efficient Road Networks, Implementing Smart Logistics, Future of Regional Rail Networks, Growing the Defence Supply Chain, Our Regions Role in Air Connectivity, Decarbonising the Supply Chain, and Future Directions for ESG and Opportunities for our Region.
Greg Bowden, CEO of TSBE, said "We're excited to host the Smart Logistics Future of Freight Symposium and provide a platform for business, industry, and thought leaders to share knowledge and insights on the future of our region."
Toowoomba's strategic location at the intersection of major highways and rail networks paired with the increasing number of logistics and distribution centres makes it a prime location for the Symposium. The aim of the event is to help the region maximise the opportunities in transport and logistics due to billions of dollars already invested and scheduled for investment in infrastructure and related projects.
The Symposium is expected to attract hundreds of delegates from the freight and logistics industry, including shippers, carriers, technology providers, and policymakers. The event will also examine the implications of the Inland Rail review and the Defence Strategic Review on the region.
"We are hosting this event because the time in now for our region to grab the opportunities out there to position ourselves for the future and showcase Toowoomba's position as a hub for logistics and innovation," added Mr. Bowden.
