Join us at the upcoming Roma Enterprise Evening to hear from two of Australia's oil and gas exploration and production companies Santos and Senex, as well as an update on the region from Maranoa Regional Council.

Senex Chief Operating Officer Darren Greer will give industry insight into the Western Surat coal seam gas project. Earlier this year Senex secured a crucial multi-million dollar funding deal giving them the green light to accelerate their development with about 40 wells, expected to be drilled by mid-2018. Senex will be joined on-stage by Santos, who coincidentally this year signed a 20-year agreement with Senex for gas supply.

As a major player in Australia's domestic and export gas production, Maranoa Regional Manager at Santos Ltd, Andrew Snars will present on their GLNG GasField Development territories. Having gained an approved EIS with conditions, just over a year ago, it will be timely to hear the latest on the progress. Key features of GLNG Gas Field Development Project include potential for up to 6,100 production and monitoring wells, underground gas storage, injection wells, fixed above-ground gas field facilities, water management infrastructure and gas and water pipelines.

Speaking on behalf of the Maranoa Regional Council, Cr Cameron O’Neil will present on current economic development activity in the region, including an exciting opportunity for the Roma Saleyards, the largest cattle selling centre in Australia.

Downer is a leading provider of services to customers in markets including oil and gas, transport, technology and communications, utilities, engineering, construction and maintenance, mining and rail. Downer employs about 19,000 people nationally and is a contractor for the Santos Scotia Gasfields in the Surat Basin. They have also held previous gas contracts in the Surat.
