May Enterprise Evening

Plans and tendering opportunities behind multi-million dollar developments at Toowoomba’s three major hospitals will be highlighted at the May Enterprise Evening.

Attendees at the event will hear from representatives from St Vincent’s Private Hospital, St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital and Toowoomba Hospital.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital will spend $30million on the Clive Berghofer Theatre Suite – a major redevelopment project that will add six new state-of-the-art operating theatres, a 16-bed recovery area and a new day surgery unit as well as a new kitchen.

St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital has plans to enlarge the waiting area for the Surgical Admissions Area, at a cost of about $2.4million, as well as a Mental Health Unit currently under consideration, to cost about $6million.

Toowoomba Hospital has a range of projects, including plans for a seventh general operating theatre at about $2.7million, an almost $10million kitchen project, $2.5million additional electrical substation and almost $7.5million for the construction works and procurement of Medical Resonance Imaging.

Toowoomba Regional Council’s March 2017 economic profile showed Health Care and Social Assistance is the largest employer in Toowoomba Region, employing around 10,743 people in 2014/15.
