Twenty local businesses will now grow their skills to harness domestic and global opportunities, as they are welcomed into the Southern Queensland Innovation in Export Hub (SQ Export Hub) 2020 cohort.

These businesses will participate in the program across two key growth centres which are recognised as major pillars to our regional economy - Food & Agribusiness and Oil, Gas and Energy Resources.

Oil Gas and Energy Resources Export Manager, Helen Bates, said this year’s cohort is built from a range of quality businesses, ready to take their products and services to new international markets.

“We aim to collaborate with Tier 1 operators, large contactors, industry, government and research organisations to work with businesses to build on innovation and technology to access new markets,” said Mrs Bates.

“With Toowoomba increasingly recognised as a growing logistics hub, our agribusinesses are well-positioned to take advantage of the expand export demand for our products,” said Mr Heaven.

The SQ Export Hub is designed to maximise the efficiency of the new air, road and rail infrastructure within the region and leverage the export capabilities of small and medium business operating in the food and agribusiness and oil, gas and energy resource sectors.

Launched in 2019, the SQ Export Hub has been brought to the Southern Queensland region and is jointly funded with the Australian Government’s SME Export Hubs grant opportunity, Queensland Government and TSBE in association with growth centre partners NERA & FIAL.
