Biofuels industry to grow in the region with agreement between TSBE and QRFA

Queensland Renewable Fuels Association (QRFA) is excited to announce a landmark partnership with Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE), which promises to drive consistent growth of the burgeoning biofuels industries in the region.

The reciprocal membership is reflective of the association’s strong business relationships in South-East Queensland, enhancing support for, and direct engagement with, renewable fuel projects throughout the State.

Larissa Rose, Managing Director of QRFA, is confident the collaboration will play a significant role in the development of a long-lasting renewable fuels industry for Queensland.

“Partnerships with organisations like TSBE is a critical aspect of connecting local and regional business with the expanding biofuels industry,” Ms Rose said.

“TSBE shares our principal focus – a commitment to sustainable growth – and compliments the business-driven focus of our organisation.

“A robust renewable fuels industry will facilitate innumerable positive outcomes for the region, creating value through not only employment, but the associated agricultural, economic and environmental benefits.”

QRFA hopes this partnership will signify a huge step towards satisfying the needs government, industry and consumers have that are necessary to expedite the development of prosperous biofuels operations in the greater Toowoomba region.

Executive Chairman of TSBE, Shane Charles, said the region was in a strong position to take advantage of the emerging opportunities for biofuels in the energy and agriculture space.

“Whilst renewable fuels has been spoken about for a long time, the mandate makes some of the opportunities more real and visible,” he said.

“That being the case TSBE has a primary focus on educating the business community in the region on the future opportunity that is set to emerge from this mandate.

“The Western Downs especially will be looking to growth in this industry with the advantage of the bio-refinery in Dalby.

“TSBE has a growing membership base in the renewables sector and we are working to educate and bring businesses that can benefit from the growth along for the ride.”

Ms Rose said the partnership would promote future investment to ensure the region continued to thrive moving forward.
