Businesses encouraged to keep workplace wellness front of mind

It has been a trying time for many businesses during the current health crisis, with many facing extreme challenges in their operating environment.

This environment means that both Government and private sectors are looking for ways to reduce expenditure and remain afloat.

While there are currently peaks and troughs in the economy, businesses are being encouraged to remain vigilant with their workplace wellness programs and not consider cutting back on this.

TSBE Health General Manager, Jaden Frame recently hosted an online meeting with local businesses involved in TSBE’s workplace wellness program.

“Staff are any organisation’s greatest assets and it is now more than ever that they need support in terms of mental health, physical and general wellbeing,” said Mr Frame.

“Advancements in technology mean that employers can easily remain in touch with their employees without being in the standard office environment, and wellness programs can be low cost and good value.”

Olympian Natalie Cook joined the online meeting to discuss with attendees Health and Wellbeing Queensland’s Boost your Healthy program.

The Boost your Healthy program supports fresh ways in which people can increase their daily dose of healthy by providing access to a range of services including activities, resources, and challenges.

“I encourage workplaces to visit the Boost your Healthy website and take a look at the range of free programs and activities that are available,” said Nat Cook.

“Collaboration is super important at this time.”

While this has been a challenging time for most, there are opportunities available and hope remains strong.
