Dr Anthony Lynham in Toowoomba for second Political Leaders Series event

Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise will host the second instalment of the Political Leaders Series next Tuesday, June 27, as politicians from the major political parties share their vision for the region.

Minister for State Development and Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Dr Anthony Lynham will deliver a keynote address before taking questions from attendees.

The next Queensland election can be called anytime between now and early 2018, with the series designed to give business leaders and residents a chance to hear from, and ask questions to, the political parties.

TSBE executive chairman Shane Charles said TSBE was an advocate for the region, and worked with the major parties to secure infrastructure, development and priority projects here.

“TSBE is tasked with economic development for the region, and has seen billions of dollars spent and allocated here,” Mr Charles said.

“We know Toowoomba and the Surat Basin region has a myriad of opportunities. We want to know in the lead-up to the state election, what our major parties will do for our region and what their vision is.”

LNP Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Arts and Major Events Tim Nicholls spoke at the first session on May 31.

TSBE diamond member IOR Petroleum is the series sponsor.

TSBE members can book individual session tickets for $125 or $165 for non-members. Booking includes a three-course plated lunch at the Empire Theatre Church.
