Exporters Club explores opportunities and pitfalls when negotiating with Asian businesses

Food Leaders Australia is set to host its third Exporters Club event this year, with a focus on opportunities and pitfalls in negotiating with Asian businesses.

The Exporters Club event will welcome speakers from Alphacrane Intercultural Specialists and Western Union Business Solutions.

Alphacrane Intercultural Specialists are a Queensland based consultancy agency specialising in cross-cultural business and communication skills.

Alphacrane Intercultural Specialists director Craig Shim will share the negotiation mistakes foreign companies frequently make when doing business in Asia, and tips on how to avoid these pitfalls.

Western Union Business Solutions are one of the world’s leading providers of cross-border business payments; they are transforming how businesses can expand globally through one of the largest and most diverse payment networks in the world.

Western Union Business Solutions Corporate Hedging Manager Roy Agostino will speak on building an FX risk management strategy for your business.

Mr Agostino is a 30-year veteran in Foreign Exchange Markets and is recognised as a collaborative leader with a focus on relationship building.

TSBE executive chairman Shane Charles said the August 29 event was a great opportunity to hear from the leading cross-border finance companies.

“If you want to know about the cultural differences of going to another region, Alphacrane are there to talk about the intricacies and nuances that you need to know before you go overseas and do business,” he said.

“Western Union are a fantastic money solutions business, especially if you’re looking at hedging currency.”

As well as expert speakers, the exporters event is the first formal event for incoming FLA General Manager Bruce McConnel, and a great opportunity for attendees to meet him.

Exporters events are hosted quarterly by FLA to bring together experts and case studies for our region’s producers with a view to educate and boost the export capability.

The Exporters Club will be held on August 29 at Tapestry, 153 Margaret Street, from noon until 2pm.  Book at www.tsbe.com.au/events.
