Media Release: Women in Health

Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise is partnering with the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN to host a series of new events, Women in Health.

Women play an instrumental role within the healthcare sector in our region, and so the purpose of this particular event series will be to bring Women in health together for networking, career progression discussions and support.

On Monday, March 11 the topic will be on work/life balance. Leisa Elder, Vice President- External Relations & Tenure Management for Arrow Energy, will discuss: Thriving, Not Just Surviving.

Leisa Elder is a member of the executive leadership team of Arrow Energy, a large Australian gas company owned jointly by international super-majors Shell and PetroChina. In 2018 she was awarded an honorary Adjunct Professor role with the University of Queensland for her work in social risk management in Australia and overseas.

Previously London-based, Ms Elder was lead crisis management consultant to companies including Rio Tinto, Mobil, General Electric, Pfizer and Goldman Sachs and, prior to that, was Executive Producer with US Network CNBC.

Toowoomba-born, she has forged a 30-year career in bridging the growing divide between multinational corporations, governments and rapidly changing public expectations.

Ms Elder will share her reflections on satisfying everyone while achieving what matters to you. “No matter what industry you work in, or what level of seniority you have, staying grounded and keeping perspective is the key to succeeding”, Ms Elder said.

Jaden Frame, General Manager of TSBE Health said “statistically women are a larger proportion of the workforce in the health industry and it is great to be hosting these networking events to encourage their career development .”
