TSBE Silver member secures five-year contract to expand its services in the region

A TOOWOOMBA business has secured a further five-year contract to expand its flagship offering with the University of Southern Queensland.

After providing printing services to the university for the past decade, Toowoomba Technology Centre director Brett Baker said securing and expanding the service for the next five years was a huge win.

“The university went to tender in late 2016 to grow their fleet of machines, and in partnership with Canon Australia we’ve been chosen as one of their local suppliers for the printers and photocopiers,” Mr Baker said.

“We are also proud to service the needs of the Ipswich and Springfield campuses, and have around 150 machines in place.”

The first shipment of devices has started to roll out locally.

Students printing out their course-work modules and assessment, and lecturers creating presentations for their students are just some of the uses of the machines. For paper-less offices, scanning documents to keep electronically is also a key feature.

“We currently manage around 150 printing devices across the three campuses, with approximately 5 million pages printed each year through the Canon devices.”

Total Technology Centre is a Silver member of Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise. Mr Baker said he worked with TSBE Bronze member Ellipsis Media’s Robert Keanalley who runs the USQ print shop to submit the tendering work.

“We’ve built a range of professional networks through TSBE and across the Darling Downs where we service.”

With the first shipment to the Toowoomba campus now in place, further upgrades of the product range will begin.
