Businesses given tools to increase productivity and become more cyber aware
With many businesses having had to adapt to working remotely during the past few months, the need for digital literacy has never been greater.
Most have had to adjust their day-to-day organisational structure and many are now relying on staff maintaining productivity and wellbeing while working from home.
Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) and Harvey Norman Commercial Toowoomba recently hosted a digital workshop focussed on digital literacy and cyber security.
This three hour online event featured two sessions from Microsoft and Trend Micro who were able to show attendees examples of tools to build their digital capability.
Head of Commercial for Harvey Norman Commercial ICT Toowoomba, Joel Yeoman, said that Harvey Norman Commercial Toowoomba were interested in helping businesses protect their digital assets.
“It’s important for businesses to be aware of solutions that are readily available to assist their staff and improve productivity in the workplace,” said Mr Yeoman.
Microsoft have seen more than two years’ worth of digital transformation in the space of the past two months, with their Teams product combining many essential elements for remote collaboration.
Trend Micro discussed cyber security and ways to safeguard your business and data.
In today’s digital age, cybercrime is too common and also quite often difficult to detect or manage.
There has been a significant increase of COVID-19 themed malicious cyber activity, meaning data and personal information is at risk.
Attendees were encouraged to check their current security in both the home and office, and ensure that they are safeguarding their data through multiple layers of protection.
TSBE Food Leaders Australia General Manager, Bruce McConnel said that there is training available if businesses are unsure of the best tools for their organisation.
“Now more than ever it is important to build the digital capability of workforces and become a cyber-resilient business,” said Mr McConnel.
“Collaboration and security within organisations has never been more fundamental.”
TSBE will be running a series of industry to industry workshops in the coming months.
