Partnership designs application to support workplace and people wellbeing
Heavy Industry Solutions has partnered with Project Health Monitoring to develop an application that collects data to monitor project and employee wellbeing.
This data provides real time information that allows for early interactions to combat workplace issues.
The application, Project Health Levels, is currently being developed, and allows employees to rate eight pillars of data daily, providing information on items including their morale, the safety on the project, their fitness for work level and their wellbeing at home and work.
Heavy Industry Solutions Business Development Manager, Peter Fenech, said not only does this data clearly indicate employee’s health levels, but also will ensure employees can easily have a say.
“From our research we have found that employees that are interactive, engaged, are communicating and have the ability to have a say increases productivity at work by at least 20%.”
“We’ve had a lot of interest for the application, including from senior Government departments,” said Mr Fenech.
Notifications are sent to one or multiple levels of management above when an individual rates any of the pillars poor, very poor or unacceptable.
From there, interactions can allow for change to be implemented, and further monitoring can occur if required.
“The application is a very powerful tool which has not only been developed for projects and business, but also for the wider community.”
“We are currently working to design a community-based application, which will support suicide prevention and having early interaction rather than intervention,” said Mr Fenech.
Heavy Industry Solutions is a Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) member and have worked together on regional opportunities.
TSBE Health General Manager, Jaden Frame, said this forward-thinking application will ensure daily and thorough health checks on worksite employees, who otherwise may not communicate their health levels.
“The Project Health Levels application is a fantastic example of employers ensuring the health of their workers is at a healthy level.”
“By having this program as a part of a workplace, early prevention of mental health or physical injury is much more achievable.”
“In some cases, by the time an employee comes forward with a concern, it could be too late, or could have been better dealt with at an earlier time.”
“This application just simply makes documenting health a part of the workday, taking no longer than seconds to complete,” said Mr Frame.
