New training facility announced to service local sectors

With recent announcements for major local infrastructure projects leading to economic support, a new training facility has been announced to create skilled and accredited locals, ready for employment.

Harness Energy will soon open a state-of-the-art training facility in Harristown, featuring classrooms that can seat up to 50 students per day, along with training equipment, rescue and drilling simulators as well as forklift training facilities to service the six pillars of the Darling Downs diverse economy: energy and resources, agriculture, health, education, retail and defence.

TSBE Energy and Infrastructure General Manager, Lance MacManus, said the announcement of this facility provides much needed economic hope for the region.

“There is a need for safe and accredited skills alongside labour hire,” said Mr MacManus.

“It is great to see long-term views to invest in the region with this new training facility by Harness Energy.”

“Having available regional training facilities like this ensures businesses have local solutions for meeting industry training requirements and adopting to new protocols.”

“The Harness Energy training facility will create regional access so that staff and businesses do not need to travel as far to access quality training.”

“Diversity of the region economy is helping business like Harness Energy invest in staff, buildings and our future,” said Mr MacManus.

For the last four years, Harness Energy have been a consistent quality provider of Safety and Induction training in Toowoomba with their CEO Rory Duff highlighting the importance of keeping Harness’ commitment to investing in the growing region.

“We’re excited to be committing to our expansion into the region, especially during this time”, said Mr Duff.

“With the new facility comes the ability to train and upskill more people, more often, with upgraded facilities, ultimately this leads to more employment opportunities, safer workers, and more efficient operations. It’s exciting to be part of the region’s growth”, said Mr Duff.

The new investment of the training centre will not only see an increase of students who can be trained and upskilled, but also ensure better quality learning outcomes for employees, contractors, and employers; minimizing the risk of fatalities, injuries, down-time and reducing associated costs, to individuals, families, and businesses.
