Join us on Wednesday, August 28 for the next Women in Health event. On the night we will be discussing the needs, gaps and opportunities for female entrepreneurs in health, including discussion on health issues in remote regional Queensland.

Leanne Kemp, the Founder and CEO of Everledger and Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, will be a guest speaker on the night.

Drawing on her extensive experience as a successful entrepreneur, Leanne was appointed Queensland Chief Entrepreneur in 2018, a role in which Leanne works on a global scale to support and develop Queensland’s startup ecosystem, attract investment and support job creation.

Leanne is excited to be able to talk with attendees about what she hopes to see in innovation around the health care industry.

Gillian Alexis, Director, CEO of Phenix Pty Ltd (Australia) and Phenix Health Global Pvt (Singapore), and Sophie Dundovic, co-founder of Parasym will be joining Leanne for a panel discussion.

Gillian Alexis is an entrepreneur with a blended career of business and health, who has devoted several decades to managing and developing virtual healthcare related businesses from startup to international collaborations. After spending several years assisting regional healthcare clinics and international doctors navigate the educational and regulatory requirements in Australia, Gillian worked with the Australian government and ran a Medical Deputising Service program (3GA) operating a home visit health care services business across the nation.

In 2015, Gillian saw like many vast countries that patients were not receiving appropriate healthcare due to the remoteness of the location, lack of health services or disabilities. Over the next 5 years, a unique patient centred Mobile App based technology (E Health record) which allows patients to Video connect with their health professionals/hospitals was developed in collaboration with doctors.

Gillian has always fostered a strong network over the years in several sectors of the Healthcare industry and utilises a B2B relationship building with Influencers strategy as key to adoption in entering a leading-edge market.

Sophie Dundovic is Co-founder of Parasym, a Neurotech company developing medical devices to improve quality of life and fight chronic disease.
Parasym have commercialised their first product and work with world leading Universities in Australia, USA and the EU conducting research into the benefits of ‘Electroceuticals’.
