Grant makes a huge difference for Sunrise Way Residents
Westfund Health Insurance CEO, Mark Genovese, was in Toowoomba to celebrate with a recent recipient of their Community Grants Program.
Sunrise Way received $10,000 of funding from the community grant and used it to continue to support their important rehabilitation service.
Sunrise Way was the only nominee based in Queensland, with the winner decided by a community poll.
Sunrise Way CEO, Louise Sanderson said, “we are proud to have offered our services to our community over the past six years and this major grant has significantly supported us as we continue to provide vital care.”
“The major grant has been used to undertake refurbishment and soundproofing of our counselling rooms and client living areas.”
“We were also fortunate to receive an additional $2,500 grant for a garden project,” said Ms Sanderson.
During Mr Genovese’s visit to Sunrise Way, clients openly expressed their heart-felt thanks to Westfund for their contribution to the facility and support of their recovery.
The Westfund Community Grants Program works to support communities that inspire the principles of health and wellbeing, fitness for life, family and community.
In 2020, Westfund Health Insurance were proud to offer $170,000 in grants to eligible organisations throughout Australia.
Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) Health General Manager, Jaden Frame, said this generous grant provides major support, as the organisation continues to keep its doors open during this difficult time.
“With the continued challenges our community faces with the pandemic and now an economic recovery, this funding has allowed Sunrise Way to continue to support a wider range of individuals,” said Mr Frame.
Westfund has origins in regional Australia which means they know that supporting the health of their members also means supporting the health of the communities.
Mr Genovese said, “we want to bring health and wellbeing front and centre, particularly for regional communities and that’s shown in the way we give back through our Community Grants Program, support of healthy initiatives and staff giving.”
“We are committed to empowering communities, getting the most for our members and helping everyone to make sense of health care,” said Mr Genovese.
Westfund is an Australian-owned, not-for-profit private health insurer with a strong commitment to the Toowoomba area.
