Greenridge celebrates 30th anniversary milestone with national awards

WHEN Mark and Fran Osborne first started in the printing business 30 years ago, they had no idea that it would grow to a company with turnover of more than $10 million per year by 2022.

“To be honest, I never even imagined I’d still be in this business at all!” Mr Osborne says.

“I’d just gone into business on my own for the first time, we had five staff members, and I was working around 60 hours per week.

“But I’ve really actually enjoyed it.”

The Greenridge Group has expanded over the past 30 years by taking over other printing companies including Ultra Print and Westminster Press in Brisbane, Creed and Lang in Warwick, and Cranbrook Press in Toowoomba.

They have gone from printing little jobs on a “tiny little offset press” – where anything requiring colour had a six-week turn-around – to running a sophisticated operation with clients including YouFoodz, Newscorp, and a number of banks and health funds for commercial print jobs, signage, packaging, graphic design, and data-driven communications.

And with 50 staff members now on the team, there were plenty of people on hand for the 30th birthday celebrations yesterday including Mark and his wife Fran, children Rick, Luke and Kyal (who is now Managing Director), and Bob Burton who has worked at Greenridge since starting as a printer 28 years ago.

As well as a special cake, the team also enjoyed the sweet taste of industry success, with Greenridge recently named as the gold, silver and bronze awards recipient at the National Print Awards.  From these, Greenridge was recognised as the Best Regional Printing Company in Australia.

“It was very special winning these awards right before our 30th birthday,” Kyal says.

“We have won other awards over the years, but it ended up being quite a haul of prizes for our birthday.

“This is a real family business we have here, and I think the community has supported us over the years because of our high quality, strength of services, and diversity into new products.”
