Mobile Health Clinic hits the road

A local business with clinics in Toowoomba and Dalby is helping meet the demand of health care needs in rural communities through its new Mobile Health Clinic.

Better Movement Clinic recently purchased the mobile health clinic to help support the need for essential allied health services.

Director John Dennehy said the van is travelling west twice a month with more than 200 referrals already.

“We’ve been able to pull up next to the GP and see all the clients that are unable to make it into the city.”

“Due to the shortage of allied health in Western Queensland we’re needing to provide allied health professionals to these towns that are at a disadvantage compared to those that are in the city,” said Mr Dennehy.

Better Movement Clinic is offering access to services like Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and many more.

Jaden Frame, TSBE Health General Manager congratulated the local company on expanding their services geographically, after helping to secure the van.

“At Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise we’re always looking to connect businesses to opportunities.”

“Because we’re connected to the health industry, we were able to quickly help Better Movement Clinic get the van from the Sunshine Coast,” said Mr Frame.

The experienced team has already seen a need for the mobile clinic, travelling to Tara and Miles recently.

Natasha Scholefield, Practice Manager said the demand has been so high, Better Movement Clinic is now looking at making trips to regional towns more frequently.

“We’ve realised that there are other communities out there that might want these kind of services at their door as well,” she said.
