Power Tynan brings international conference to Toowoomba

Toowoomba is hosting the first ever Walker Wayland Australasia conference held in a regional location.

Walker Wayland Australasia Limited is a network of independent but like-minded accounting firms located throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Local accounting firm Power Tynan put forward Toowoomba as the location for the company’s national conference.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our business strengths and our city,” says Power Tynan CEO and Chair of Walker Wayland Australasia Paul Hilton.

The 2017 Walker Wayland Australasia Conference is being held from 23rd – 25th February, with the 140 registered participants travelling from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

According to business tourism bureau, Toowoomba Conferences, this three day event will contribute over $750,000 to the region through the supply of accommodation, venue, catering, laundry, banking and other goods and services.

The role of Toowoomba Conferences is to help groups meet in the region.

It’s not all work for the group, though. As well as technical training sessions for the attendees, the conference also includes Wayne Bennett as the guest speaker, and an “amazing race” collecting clues at iconic locations around the Toowoomba CBD.

“We’ve included both the well-known and some rather unusual spots in our race which is designed to encourage team-work and lots of fun, “ said Lauren Guymer from Power Tynan. “Power Tynan has taken the lead by securing our national conference in Toowoomba. We would encourage other business to work with Toowoomba Conferences to do the same.”
