Energy supply and use in Australia is continually changing. We are seeing energy production becoming increasingly export-oriented and our importance as a global energy supplier grow. Australians are using energy more productively as new technologies are being implemented and as our economy evolves. Approximately 86 percent of our electricity is generated from fossil fuels (73 percent from coal and 13 percent from natural gas) and 14 percent from renewable sources, it is clear that a balance of energy is required for our country to prosper.

It is crucial that a forum be held that can debate the trilemma being faced around generating energy for the country that is reliable, affordable and sustainable. 

The inaugural National Energy Summit facilitated by TSBE will address these issues as they relate to energy policy development and chart a roadmap for a sustainable energy future for Australia that is founded on prosperous regional economies.

This timely Summit features presentations by industry experts and political leaders who will assist delegates to position themselves to capitalise on the emerging trends and opportunities in the sector.
