Outgoing Board members leave lasting legacy from service
Bittersweet news this week as TSBE celebrates the end of nearly a decade of combined service from two outgoing board members. Joe Wagner and John Moncrieff have provided notice that they will be resigning at the upcoming AGM tomorrow in Dalby.
TSBE Chairman Shane Charles reflected on the tenure of Mr Wagner and Mr Moncrieff on the board saying that the two community stalwarts had served in a voluntary capacity for many years and had consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did the directors contribute to board meetings but they elected to serve on multiple committees and regularly travelled great distances to attend events and support the activity of TSBE he said.
“Both these directors have brought extensive business acumen to our boardroom table for many years and we know that the contribution they have made has led to TSBE’s recognition by the Regional Australia Institute and others as one of the leading economic development organisations in the country”, Mr Charles said.
Mr Wagner joined the TSBE board in 2015 and soon after participated in TSBE’s infrastructure committee and subsequently the AccessNZ committee in 2017. With a number of positive announcements surrounding our key infrastructure priorities and the success of the historic delegation across the ditch, Mr Wagner has helped TSBE achieve many milestones.
“TSBE is such an exciting enterprise that offers such a great amount of opportunity to the region and the state. I have witnessed the achievement over the past three years which has been absolutely terrific, and I look forward to seeing the new board take that a step further. It has been an honour to be a part of TSBE.” Mr Wagner said.
Mr Moncrieff’s appointment to the board dates back to TSBE’s inception having been a director of the Surat Basin Corporation prior to the merger which formed TSBE. John has been a steadfast member of the board since this time and used his impressive financial and business acumen to advise the Revenue and Finance committee.
“It has been a privilege to work with the team and members of TSBE, and I think we can all be proud of what has been achieved by helping the business community of Toowoomba and the Surat Basin in some small way to improve the outcome for all concerned”, Mr Moncrieff said.
Joe and John’s presence on the board will be sorely missed by all at TSBE.
“We would like to thank and acknowledge them both for their service and wish them all the best as they devote their skills and experience to their other pursuits”, Mr Charles concluded.
