Plans released for new Toowoomba Hospital project

Plans have been released and feedback has been sought for, for the new Toowoomba Hospital on the Baillie Henderson Hospital campus.

The Toowoomba Hospital Redevelopment Project plans have been released online, outlining the timeline of the redevelopment, hospital designs and technology advancements, with a detailed business case to be presented to the Queensland Government in late 2020 for consideration.

TSBE Health General Manager, Jaden Frame, said the project has the ability to generate 4,000 jobs for the region.

“TSBE supports the new Toowoomba Hospital on the Baillie Henderson Hospital campus and will continue to advocate strongly for the funding approval later this year,” said Mr Frame.

“The new hospital will have more beds, treatment areas, Emergency Department spaces and operating theatres to cater for the region’s growing population and health care needs.”

“This project not only is keeping up with the demand for health services as Toowoomba’s population grows but will also create localised treatment for conditions requiring health services that are not currently offered at Toowoomba Hospital,” said Mr Frame.

Darling Downs Health are currently seeking feedback on the new health services and facilities proposed for the new Toowoomba Hospital, with locals able to complete a survey online of register for an online session.  Find our more at www.health.qld.gov.au/darlingdowns/our-projects/toowoomba-hospital-redevelopment
