TSBE’s Indigenous Business Expo celebrates connection and opportunity

More than 100 people gathered in Chinchilla to celebrate Indigenous entrepreneurship at Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise’s (TSBE) Indigenous Business Expo, held in recognition of Indigenous Business Month.

The Expo offered an opportunity for business to connect with passionate First Nations suppliers and explore their diverse offerings.

The day featured a number of guest speakers, including Julia Spicer, Former Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, Tanya Abbey from Recruitcorp Group and Jay Hobbs from Symth Studio. Attendees also had the chance to engage with 21 stall holders, including:

TSBE Indigenous Business Connector, Ashley Williams said the Expo showcased the strength, innovation and leadership of our local small business community.

“The day included seminars on branding and marketing, recruitment tips and resources that every business should know about,” Mr Williams said.

“It also created opportunities for First Nations businesses to connect with each other and with larger organisations for procurement partnerships.”

Indigenous Business Month is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, highlighting their innovation, excellence, economic independence and self-determination.
