About Us

Proudly Queensland, Mort & Co has become Australia’s largest privately-owned cattle lot feeding management and marketing company, and is a leading exporter of beef.

Priding ourselves on producing trusted Australian beef, Mort & Co is a fully integrated supply chain, with a guaranteed consistent supply of quality products, and the ability to respond to global market conditions.

Since the launch of the new era of Mort & Co over 20 years ago, we have grown to manage three world-class feedlots in Queensland and Northern New South Wales, turning over in excess of 200,000 head of cattle per year.  Refining our feedlot operations to a fine art, Mort & Co has been able to achieve consistent numbers of cattle on feed, improved efficiencies and reduced overhead costs.  Integral to our success are the alliances established with Australia’s leading beef producers, processors and global importers and distributors. 

At the end of 2015, Mort & Co officially launched its own beef brand – The Phoenix Range – which is produced in our rich agricultural region of the Darling Downs and exported to the world.  Borrowing the strong motif of the Phoenix from the Mort family crest dating back to the 15th century, it symbolises resilience, longevity and constant renewal, epitomising the modern era of Mort & Co. 

The Phoenix Range focuses on producing premium, high value, safe and traceable beef.  Comprised of two brands, The Phoenix and The Grandchester, each offers its own unique flavours to meet the discerning palettes of customers around the globe.
