Major forum to bring together regions brightest innovators

Toowoomba will host a major agrifood innovation forum in June, which will help drive the adoption of AgTech.

400M will highlight how to turn innovative ideas into reality and showcase the best new technology available to help solve some of the challenges the industry is facing.

Some of these include lack of connectivity and slow adoption of technology.

Bruce McConnel, TSBE Food Leaders Australia (FLA) General Manager said 400M is one of Australia’s leading forums of its kind.

“It’s designed to highlight the future of agriculture and food supply chains innovation here within Australia.”

“We’re also excited to showcase how industry adopts innovation and how they work with new entrepreneurs to get the solutions that they want to solve their biggest problems,” said Mr McConnel.

‘400M’ describes the 400 million hectares of farming land in Australia that needs to play its role in feeding the 400 million emerging middle-income earners in Asia.

This year’s 400M forum on 2 – 3 June also includes a new field day as part of the two-day program.

Nat Parker, AirBorn Insight Director said he’s excited to be part of 400M.

“We’re going to be exhibiting on the second day and talking to people who come to the forum, particularly we’re interested in the ag side of things.”

“Trying to inform people that you can use drones and the information they collect and often it’s quite combatable with existing machinery,” said Mr Parker.

Mr McConnel said it’s an exciting addition to be able to see the technologies in action.

“So rather than just sit in a room and hear about the new innovation, you’ll be able to see and experience it, as well as hear from the entrepreneurs themselves.”

“Partnering with the Agtech and Logistics Hub, this is a really good chance to start showcasing innovation to the participants of the field day who will be industry, government and business owners in a real tangible way,” he said.
