2024 Western Downs Development Status Report: Highlights billions in regional investment
Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) are pleased to release the 2024 Western Downs Development Status Report, in partnership with Western Downs Regional Council. The report provides valuable information on known developments in the Western Downs Region, broken down into the region’s key industries: health and education, resources, renewables, civil and road works, and private construction.
One of the main objectives of the Development Status Report is to support the long-term vision and pipeline of work for the region. The pillars of strong regional communities include liveability, connectivity, sustainability, and prosperity. By providing accurately curated and up-to-date information on current and planned developments, the report helps to inform and engage the community, identify opportunities and challenges, and guide strategic planning and decision making.
Western Downs Regional Council Mayor, Andrew Smith says there's never been a better time to invest in the Western Downs. “Our economy is thriving, liveability is at an all-time high, and opportunity awaits.”
This sentiment is reflected in the report, with the 2024 Western Downs Development Status Report has identifying $7.5 billion in development under various stages of development, across a wide range of industries.
“It is exciting to know there is such a huge volume of development underway in the Western Downs. Investment confidence is vital for the development and prosperity of regional communities,” said April Cavanagh, TSBE CEO.
The Development Status Report is important for locals and investors to understand what developments are in the pipeline. Through the Development Status Report, TSBE and Western Downs Regional Council hope to encourage further investment in the region, while also providing businesses with valuable project information to help leverage new opportunities and instil confidence in regional growth and development.
