Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise weaving support into community workshops

Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) member Lighthouse Toowoomba are the charitable recipients of $4,478 generated from this year’s Darling Downs Beef Battle event.

Lighthouse Toowoomba is a home for creativity, with a dedicated youth writing centre, workshop spaces and exhibition gallery.

Founder and Creative Director Emma Mactaggart says that the donation will fund several of the seventy community workshops.

“The workshops will contribute to an impressive two-story high weave blended by artists Taryn Walker and Shannan Jackwitz for our upcoming exhibition called Intertwined,” Ms Mactaggart said.

“The workshops will demonstrate the diversity and spirit of our region and will include opportunities for increasing children’s self-efficacy, confidence, and exposure to alternative learning engagement for literacy outcomes as well as offering engagement in art.”

Food Leaders Australia (FLA) General Manager Justin Heaven said TSBE are thrilled to support the local charity.

“We’re delighted to contribute to an awesome project that will be on show in our region following the conclusion of the exhibition,” said Mr Heaven.
